Sporting types in and around Alexandria may wish to join the ever-growing fanbase of pickleball, which has grown exponentially since the Covid pandemic.
Posters advertising a pickleball event may be distributed in the community via local Print shops.
Pickleball was invented in 1965 in Seattle. It is a cross between tennis, badminton and table tennis, and can be played inside or outside, in a space about a quarter of the size of a tennis court and with a lower net. The bats are large paddles, and the ball is lightweight plastic.
With a smaller area to cover, and lighter bats and balls, the sport appeals to all age groups. It is quick to learn and even a short session will advance a new player to the point where they can rally with their partner.
At this event in Alexandria, staff will be there to reinforce the basics of the game and proffer handy tips when getting started. All sessions are geared to enjoyment so that attendees might get a taste for the sport and become part of the growing community.
Social Pickleball will be taking place for all skill groups every Sunday from 7pm, in Perry Park Recreation Centre, 1B Maddox Street, Alexandria. The session costs $15. All equipment is provided, and the games will take place indoors.Get a Free Quote for Posters Get a Free Quote for Print
