Run by the Sydney Comedy School, the comedy class allows like-minded people to meet, learn to perform comedy and encourage others to do the same. With DnD themes, the role-play will also help attendees to hone their skills during gaming.
Typically, there could be around 20 to 30 people in a class, maybe half of whom are first timers. Some have been attending for many months; these classes have been running for four years.
The class is designed to be participatory, with comedic activities throughout the session. Spontaneity and improvisation are key. The classes are designed to be easy, comfortable and accessible for new members as inclusivity and friendliness are championed above all. A recent attendee said:
“I’ve been coming to the Sydney Comedy School for awhile and I’ve loved every minute. It’s been so much fun getting to meet new people, the classes are hilarious and the teachers are awesome!”
Flyer printing is often a means whereby local events are advertised within a community.
