Foodie favourite to be taste-trialled in Alexandria

Taste pairings of caviar paired champagne and vodka are taking place in Alexandria in the middle of February, for those with a discerning palate.

Caviar has long been revered by fine food lovers. To this end, a masterclass is taking place where attendees get to taste three types of caviar, together with other canapes. These will be paired with specific champagnes and vodkas to make for a premium tasting experience.

An experienced caviar ambassador will be running proceedings, starting with information on the origin and history of caviar and roe, then introducing a guided tasting on sustainable fare. Learning how to taste as experts do is important, as connoisseurs say it is the key to detecting subtle but important differences.

The evening will start with canapes and champagne, followed by an introduction into the origins of caviar. This leads into a light-hearted but educational tasting experience. The evening will end with information on how best to match caviar with other food and drinks.

Written information and notes to accompany masterclasses will often be delivered courtesy of local Print shops.

The Caviar Masterclass is taking place from 10:30am until 12:30pm on Saturday, February 15. The venue is Simon Johnson, 24A Ralph Street, Alexandria, NSW 2015. Tickets cost $210. There will be 10% off purchases at the end of the event.
