The Sculpture by the Sea exhibition brings a range of contemporary artworks to the coastal walk between Bondi and Tamarama.
This year, the team behind The Grounds of Alexandria are opening a pop-up cafe called The Grounds by the Sea, which will offer food and drinks to some of the thousands of visitors expected to hit the trail.
The Grounds’ co-owner, Ramzey Choker, told the Daily Telegraph that the venue was designed to create a homely feel. He said:
"There will be food and beverages and a similar experience to The Grounds, but it is a bit more seafood driven. It is very homely though, like a cottage by the sea.”
The wooden structure has been constructed in just a few weeks, and has been filled with recycled and found objects to help create the lived-in feel.
Sculpture by the Sea features more than 100 exhibits from both Australian and international artists scattered along the two-kilometre coastal walk.
Catalogue printing has been used create a map and details of all the exhibits to help visitors find their way along the route. A children's guide has also been produced especially for youngsters aged between five and 11 years old.
The Sculpture by the Sea event runs until Sunday, November 9th.
