Dora the Explorer set to entertain Sydney

Children's TV character Dora the Explorer will be bringing her adventures to the Sydney stage later this month.

Fans of the young traveller will be able to see her live at the Capitol Theatre in Haymarket in a new show called Dora's Pirate Adventure. The story will see Dora and her friends, Boots and Diego, set out on a journey in search of the Pirate Piggies and a haul of missing treasure.

The audience should look out for other popular characters from the show, such as Backpack and Map, who will be helping Dora along the way. Of course she will also need some help from the audience members themselves, and there should be chances for children to get involved.

Younger attendees are bound to know many of the songs, while the catchy tunes will have even the most stubborn of adults humming along.

The show itself runs for an hour and there is also a half-time interval to give families the chance to take a break from the action and recharge their batteries with some refreshments. Afterwards, fans might want to take a look at the merchandise produced using printing services to pick up a memento from the show, such as a poster of their favourite character or a Dora storybook.

Dora will be in Sydney on Tuesday October 15 and Wednesday October 16. There are three shows each day, at 10.30am, 1.30pm and 4.30pm, but fans from Alexandria should book soon as tickets are selling fast.
