Dental practitioners in the Alexandria area who are interested in preventative dentistry may wish to sign up for the ‘Mastering Preventative Dentistry in the 21st Century’ course in June. Print shops are often utilised locally to produce information about courses to be distributed in the area.
The dentistry training morning is run by an accredited teacher, Andrew Terry, who is from the Swiss Dental Academy. The course teaches students about how to use Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT). GBT is a system for dental biofilm management, using protocols and procedures for each patient to achieve maximum personalised results. The course focuses on practical and clinical sessions, with opportunity to work on dental models and other attendees, the aim of the class being to make dental hygiene faster and more effective.
Terry has twenty five years’ experience in dental therapy and hygiene, working in Brisbane, Zurich and London. He is also a lecturer in Dental Hygiene. He assists with the recruitment of other clinical educators and offers voluntary hygiene education classes for some groups of people that otherwise might not be able to access the information.
