Oracle Liquid from Alexandria, New South Wales has made it to the finals of the Sydney City Business Awards.
The firm specialises in the production and design of entertainment spectaculars that are visually “enthralling spectacles” and feature laser spheres, fountains and more.
According to Oracle Liquid’s website, the company has provided the show technology and laser systems since it was launched during the 1990s.
This year, it has joined six other finalists vying for the prestigious Excellence in Innovation Award.
Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore said the 2016 event had attracted a high calibre of entries, which highlighted the City’s strength in the small to medium business sector.
He said the sector contributed about $20bn into Sydney’s local economy and some small businesses also helped promote the area by featuring on Postcards and Calendars.
The Mayor praised new and established businesses throughout the city that were continuing to grow and succeed in a time of great transformation, which included the introduction of a new light rail service and the establishment of George Street as a pedestrian sector in contrast to its traditional drive-through status.
He said the awards put small business on a bigger stage and showcased what they were doing well.
Winners of the 11 categories in this year’s Sydney City Business Awards, as well as the 2016 Business of the Year, will be announced on July 21 at the Sydney Town Hall.
