Youngsters across Sydney are being asked to share their favourite parts of the city in an annual competition for young photographers.
The Little Sydney Lives contest is designed to encourage children aged between three and eleven years old to take out their cameras and capture images of life in Sydney.
The competition is part of the Art and About Sydney festival, which runs from Friday, September 18th to Sunday, October 11th, and celebrates art and theatre with events and exhibitions at unusual outdoor venues, many of which offer the chance for public involvement.
Youngsters from Alexandria can enter one of two categories – one for children aged between three and seven years old, and the other for ages eight to eleven.
Printing services will be used to create an outdoor exhibition of the 20 finalists, which will be held in Hyde Park throughout the duration of the festival.
The Little Sydney Lives contest has been running for five years and usually has a wide range of entries, including pictures of family life, favourite pets, and trips throughout the city. Last year more than 150 budding photographers entered the competition.
The winner in each category will win prizes up to the value of $500.
