Opened recently, the $6 million skating venue comes fully equipped with a host of cutting-edge features. The development of the new skate park followed strong demand for such a venue from local families and skaters, according to Lord Mayor of Sydney Clover Moore, who added:
“We’ve responded to strong community demand and created an incredible skate park for both beginners and the bravest among us to ride, skate and master their tricks.”
The Lord Mayor said the park had been beautifully designed to incorporate three main features, which includes a huge flow bowl that meet competition standards internationally and features 3.3 metre depths for the use of advanced skaters and riders. The design also hosts a bowl for beginners and, finally, an extensive plaza that comes complete with obstacles required for those who perform technical, street-style manoeuvres, such as the quarter pipe, vertical wall, stairs, ledges, rails and banks.
Popular outdoor activities such as this are often featured in brochure printing campaigns aimed at attracting visitors to the area.
In addition to the new skating facilities at Sydney Park in Alexandria, the venue also offers barbecues, picnic, viewing and seating areas. The project was undertaken by Concrete Skateparks.
