What's Happening in Seattle, WA…

Winter solstice to be center of Seattle celebration

The winter solstice plays a significant role in many religious and secular celebrations, and the planners of a Seattle event are hoping their activity will come to be a cherished local tradition.

The Graham Visitor’s Center at the WA Park Arboretum will be adding some extra touches of light to the season with an activity intended to offer both peaceful introspection and a reminder that longer days are on the way. There will be several different ways for the attendees to be part of the celebration, which will take place rain or shine.

The registrants for the evening will be invited to immerse themselves in nature with a luminary forest walk, and everyone will be able to go home with holiday swag to add to their own display. The first day will be reserved for those age 21 and up as alcohol will be served, and the following session will be family friendly.

For an outdoor event, custom designed decor for a function may be prepared by an area banner printing company. This will be able to offer an assortment of options able to withstand the winter weather.

The Arboretum Solstice Walk will be hosted at the WA Park Arboretum on December 17 and 18. Tickets for the festivities may be reserved by visiting its listing on Eventbrite.
