Show helps Seattle residents look forward to springtime
The Northwest Flower and Garden Show is being held for four days next month.
Set to feature no fewer than 300 exhibitors, free seminars, demonstrations, show gardens and a vintage garden market, guests can also expect a large number of local plant, gardening, and horticultural organizations to be on hand to let the public know about their programs and services.
Some of the speakers who will be taking part in this year's show include Tony Avent, Donna Balzer, Graham Kerr, and Charlie Nardozzi. The seminars will have topics on small space solutions in gardening, inspirational gardens, the art of accessorizing, and ikebana (Japanese flower arranging). Guests can also participate in a treasure hunt.
There will be an opening night party and auction held prior to the opening. As a fundraiser for the Arboretum Foundation, guests will enjoy food, wine, and music, and can bid on auction items.
No doubt many residents of Seattle will want to attend this show to get ideas on their gardens. Local printing companies may be asked to provide advertising materials such as booklets to help spread the word.
The Northwest Flower and Garden Show is taking place at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center from February 11 to 15, starting at 9:00 am each day. Admission is $17 for adults or $5 for children between the ages of 13 and 17.
