Seattle kids to enjoy time in the kitchen
Learning how to cook can be a lot of fun for kids, and those who participate in the summer series planned by the West Seattle YMCA will be able to pick up this valuable life skills.
The YMCA has organized its “Kids in the Kitchen" program, which will be held on Saturdays in August. It is for youngsters from the ages of five to eight, and the registration fee for the campers starts at $80.
Young people who take part in the class series will learn the cooking basics that will help them to prepare a wide selection of healthy dishes. A discussion of nutrition is also on the menu, and safety will be emphasized. The kids will be able to make some new friends while they cook over the course of the one-and-a-half-hour session.
Learning how to prepare simple snacks and meals can be highly rewarding, and organizers of a cookery class will be able to order recipe cards and books as well as aprons, chef’s hats, and other items from a printer that prepares custom corporate gifts.
This summer cooking series will be kicking off on Saturday, August 5, and it will run from 10:00 am until 11:30 am. More information about the activity is available on ActiveKids.com for parents or guardians who require further details.
