Seattle Festival of Trees honors young heroes
A dazzling Christmas tree display will light up a downtown hotel and help local sick kids later this month.
The Seattle Festival of Trees is in its 43rd year and raises money for the Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Seattle Children’s Autism Center.
The festival is usually an in-person gala event at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. However, this year things are a bit different, and the hotel will now be home to a magnificent Christmas tree display in its giant front windows so that pedestrians can view them as they stroll down 4th Ave. Aside from the trees, one window will feature a gingerbread house display.
Seattleites are able to purchase the ornately decorated trees. Trees have themed decor such as “Christmas Mice”, “Mrs. Claus’s Kitchen”, and “A Frosty Christmas Morning.” The trees cost between $2,500 and $3,800. The trees are then delivered to homes and businesses.
Last year, the festival raised $584,000 for the Seattle Children’s Hospital. Sponsor packages are available where businesses can have their logo designs featured prominently on social media, at the virtual gala opening and with one of the decorated trees on display.
The 43rd annual Seattle Festival of Trees is scheduled to begin on Saturday, November 21 with a virtual gala opening at 6:00 pm. The Fairmont Olympic Hotel is located at 411 University Street in downtown Seattle.
