What's Happening in Seattle, WA…

Seattle class to cover garden planning basics

Seattle gardeners who are anxiously waiting for spring to arrive are invited to get a jump start on the season by attending a local class this February.

The Rainier Beach Urban Farm and Wetlands will host a “Plan Your Garden” workshop, which has been designed specifically to suit beginners. It may also be a good refresher for those with a more experienced green thumb, and several topics are on the agenda for the event.

The class will be focused on organic gardening, and will equip attendees with the fundamentals of this skill. Among the topics that will be reviewed, visitors will be given tips on choosing the right crop for the season, as well as creating a design that works well for plants, people, and even wildlife. Everyone will walk away with a list of resources they can call on, and the learning will be delivered through both lectures and other activities.

Event planners often choose to supply attendees with additional educational materials so they can keep on learning after days like this. These may be prepared by stationery printers, which can also craft letterheads and other custom documents.

The Plan Your Garden afternoon will be helping Seattle gardeners get ready for the upcoming season on Saturday, February 17. It will begin at 1:00pm, and tickets can be purchased by visiting the Tilth Alliance website. Alex Soleil will be the instructor for the session.
