Registration open for Green Lake Open Water Swim
Seattle swimmers may want to dip their toes into the water at Green Lake for the annual lake swim, put on by Seattle Parks and Recreation.
The Green Lake Open Water Swim is a one-mile or half-mile swim on Seattle's Green Lake. Staff are on duty during the swim to make sure all participants are safe.
Those participating in the half-mile will have to swim across the lake from west to east, while those taking in the one-mile swim will have to traverse the lake twice.
The race is open to anyone over 10 years-old. Registration fees for teens and seniors is $45, while regular adult registration is $50.
The last day for standard registration is June 25 at noon. The last day for internet registration is June 23 at noon.
The water in Green Lake is cold, even in late June, so organizers recommend swimmers don wet suits. All swimmers get a free cap and t-shirt. The winners in every age category will get a prize.
Races such as this one can use local printing services for signage and banners displaying the logos of various sponsors.
The Green Lake Open Water Swim is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 28 from 6:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Green Lake Community Center, 7201 East Green Lake Drive N., in Seattle.
