Long-running Seattle festival just weeks away
Next month, Seattle hosts the 48th Annual Northwest Folklife Festival, which will be held at the Seattle Center. This festival continues to celebrate the different cultural aspects of life in the Pacific Northwest.
This festival will feature over 5,000 different performers throughout the long weekend. These performers represent many of the different cultures that make up the communities of the area. In previous years, this event has gathered more than 250,000 visitors. Although there is no admission fee, there are recommended donation amounts for those able to contribute. The coordinators suggest a $10 donation per person per day, or $20 per family.
All venues used in this festival are wheelchair accessible, and a limited number of wheelchairs are available at the facility. Due to the large number of out-of-town visitors, a number of hotels in the area are offering special rates for the festival. It is expected that there will be a high volume of traffic, and the surrounding paid lots will fill up. Event coordinators advise attendees to get to the festival via bus, bike, or on foot
This kind of event often uses printing services to help make everything easier. Printed maps may be available, and there will likely be printed daily schedules or signs towards certain events or areas.
The festival will be open from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm Friday through Sunday, and Monday will open at 11:00 am and finish at 9:00 pm. The festival is scheduled to take place during Memorial Day weekend, from May 24 through 27.
