April festival to promote meat-free diet
Vegfest 2016 is taking place over two days next month in Seattle, hosted by Vegetarians of Washington.
There will be much at this festival to appeal to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. There are set to be more than 200 companies who will be providing samples of more than 500 types of foods. There will be cooking demonstrations from chefs such as Beverly Lynn Bennett, Alan Roettinger, and Archana Verma.
There will be plenty of activities for the children, including face painting, clowns and puppet shows. Several speakers, such as Dr. Keith Hanson and Dr. Esther Park-Hwang, will be talking about such topics as healthy eating, how to avoid diseases, and preventing cancer. Guests will also be able to purchase a variety books on vegetarianism and health.
Several professionals will be providing free health screenings for bone density, cholesterol, and blood pressure. Guests who decide to join Vegetarians of Washington at the event will receive a tote bag filled with food and coupons.
Organizers may wish to contact their favorite Seattle printing company to create the coupons they will give away.
Vegfest will be held at the Seattle Center from April 9 to 10 from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM each day. Admission is $9 for adults and free for children aged 12 and under. To get the latest information about this event, call 206-706-2635.
