Family rock climbing workshop arranged in Wylie

Wylie will host a rock climbing workshop for kids aged 5-12 in early 2026.

The event will be led by certified instructors and aims to help teach climbing fundamentals and safety practices. Attendees will also get to participate in a range of challenges during the classes, with the intention of sharpening their problem-solving skills, building confidence, and fine-tuning their communication as they explore climbing basics.

Parents can purchase crash-pad access for siblings while watching. However, registration needs to be done in advance as the spaces are limited. Cancellation requests can also only be received at least 24 hours before the start of the event. Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing at local schools to publicize the workshop and session times.

The organizers urge all participants to wear athletic clothes and tennis shoes to enhance safety. They should also arrive early to ensure they participate in all the available forums. These include practicing three different knots and understanding essential equipment.

The program offers low-cost parking at the center, with all participants encouraged to bring water bottles. The children will be split into age-appropriate groups, with parents advised to pack snacks if their child has dietary restrictions.

Wylie Recreation Center, located at 300 Country Club Road, Building 200, will host the rock climbing workshop on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
