Pflugerville to participate in National Night Out

Pflugerville is a city with a lot of community pride, and it has planned to be part of an international initiative that celebrates the value of good neighbors.

The city has explained that many of its neighborhoods will be organizing events for National Night Out, which is supported by the Office of Justice Programs, the Bureau of Justice Assistance, and the U.S. Department of Justice. These help to build a bridge between citizens and law enforcement and also create strong communities, with the ultimate aim of preventing crime. Anyone who would like to plan and register a celebration is encouraged to do so.

The list of ideas for a neighborhood gathering can range from a pool party to a potluck dinner or street dance, and those who register their function can request to have a representative of law enforcement stop by. They will also receive a materials pack, and during the celebration, they are requested to take lots of photos that include the National Night Out Logo Design. These can then be submitted to the organizers to include in the marketing materials for future years.

The Community Services division of the Pflugerville Police Department has partnered with other law enforcement agencies all across North America for the National Night Out. The date for the initiative has been set for October 4th.
