Pflugerville library schedules plant swap

Pflugerville Public Library offers a variety of community focused programming, and one of its events will hopefully put smiles on the faces of local plant lovers.

The city’s home horticulturists who have extra plants on their hands are encouraged to drop by the library to participate in its Plant Swap. It will be held in late summer, and tickets are required.

Those who are interested can bring their extras to the tables set up in the venue’s courtyard, and gardening items will also be welcome. As a bonus, the Travis County Master Gardener Association will be manning a pop-up plant clinic, and will answer questions and offer advice.

To help keep the function on track, the planners have asked the “swappers” to arrive no more than 10 minutes in advance. They can place their items on the tables, and once the staff gives the signal, it will be time to start. Everyone is advised to bring a box to carry home their finds.

It is expected to be a busy day, and anyone who needs to step out for a moment can leave their plants at the “plantsitting” booth. Using suitable signage for an event can help to keep it organized, and this can be prepared by local poster printing companies.

Pflugerville “plant parents” are on the guestlist for this opportunity, which will be held on Saturday, September 6, starting at 9:30 am. More information is available on the city’s website.
