Pflugerville program encourages safe summer fun

The Pflugerville Police Department will be fanning out across the community this summer in a program that will put safety first.

The Department will be on the lookout for kids that act safely when they play, bike or engage in other activities, and it will both encourage safe fun and getting to know local law enforcement on a more personal level. This program has been running for several summers, and each year, at least 500 “tickets” are given out.

During the initiative, the police will distribute “tickets” to kids they see engaging in safe play, and they can redeem them for a frozen treat at one of the program’s community partners. Some examples include crossing at a crosswalk, wearing a helmet when biking and using proper hand signals. The goal is to encourage youngsters to enjoy a fun filled summer that’s also safe.

An outside box style activity can attract a lot of positive public attention, and a printing services company will be happy to help. It can provide a full line of custom Print work, including Promotional Products to distribute.

Pflugerville’s Police Department will be saluting kids who engage in safe play this summer with its “Cool Moves” campaign. Further details about the initiative can be found on the city’s website, including examples of what the officers will be looking for when handing out tickets.
