Pflugerville fundraiser to help feed local kids

Small efforts can come together to make a big impact, and this is the spirit behind a Pflugerville fundraiser.

The Heroes Against Hunger initiative will see members of the community run, walk, or support the efforts of Backpack Friends simply by doing some shopping. The proceeds will help to make sure every child in the area has enough nutritious food to eat, all while giving the public a cause for celebration.

The plans for the day include a 5K run and kids 1K, and once they have completed their route, everyone can do some browsing at the vendor and artisan tables. There will be activities for the kids to enjoy, and people can stop by one of the food trucks for a bite to eat.

While taking part in a day like this does a good turn for kids in need, it also gives food truck operators and other small businesses an opportunity to show what they have to offer. Print shops can help to make sure they have the items they need to take full advantage of the opportunity, and these can each be custom designed to any specifications given.

The Heroes Against Hunger fundraiser will be held, rain or shine, on July 3. It will be on offer at the intersection of Pecan Street and Railroad Avenue.
