Pflugerville fishers enjoy friendly competition

Pflugerville fishers will soon be dropping their lines in friendly competition that will welcome both experienced and newbie anglers.

Lake Pflugerville will be the venue for a derby-style event. There will be volunteers on site to lend a hand, and gear and tackle will be provided on a first come, first served basis.

Community members who take part in the activity will receive assistance and tips to help them get started if they need them, and those who wish to enter the fishing contest must do so from the shore or one of the piers on the south shore of Lake Pflugerville, as catches made from a watercraft will not be accepted. The fishers with the longest catch in the age category win a prize, and one will also be presented for the longest overall fish landed.

A fishing or other contest can be a fun way to encourage community members to enjoy the great outdoors. Graphic design techniques can be used by a professional printing services to create custom trophies and other awards for a special event.

Pflugerville will be taking to the lake for its annual Pfishing Day on Saturday, June 7th. The lines will be hitting the water at 9:00 am along the lake’s south shore, with the event wrapping up at midday. A registration form is available on the city’s website.
