Home show highlights what is new in the industry

The 22nd annual Austin Home and Garden Show is taking place over three days next month. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.

The show will feature the latest in landscaping, gardening, home building and home improvement. There will be many vendors on hand to showcase and to sell their products such as hot tubs, home decor and much more.

One of the special celebrity guests at this year's show will be Ty Pennington of "Trading Spaces" and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." He will be speaking from the main stage. Other stage presentations will discuss home improvement and various other related topics.

There will also be several displays of container homes and landscaped gardens. Guests can visit the Tiny Home Village to see the latest in small living or the Backyard Cantina to have a rest.

There will be two special days during the show. Hero Day will be January 10 and all military, veterans, fire, police and first responders will be admitted for free. Similarly, on January 12, Trade Day will offer free admission to tradespeople and members of affiliated associations.

Flyer printing services will likely help get the word out about this show to surrounding communities such as Pflugerville.

The home and garden show will be held at the Austin Convention Center from January 10 to 12. Admission is $10 for those aged 17 and over and $8 for seniors. Call 512-813-5340 to find out more.
