Chili contest to see local chefs pit their wits

The Ranger Cattle Chili Fest is taking place next month in nearby Austin.

Guests will have the opportunity to sample several types of chili, which will be prepared by some of the city's top chefs and will be able to vote for their favorites. Chili tasting will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. There will also be free beer and cocktails courtesy of sponsors Independence Brewery and Jim Beam.

Live musical performances will take place throughout the day featuring local and regional performers and there will be several cowboys in attendance. Those attending can also feed some cows and enjoy live goat roping demonstrations all day long.

Everyone attending is expected to wear a mask or other face covering when they are not eating or drinking. The event will be completely outdoors, so social distancing will be easy to do.

This will be a chance for Austin residents and those from surrounding communities such as Pflugerville to discover their new favorite chili or adult beverage. To spread the word, local flyer printing firms frequently provide advertising materials that can be quickly and inexpensively distributed.

The festival will be held at Ranger Cattle in Austin on April 3 from 12:00 to 6:00 PM. Tickets are $20 per person. For more information about this event, call 912-257-9308.
