Fundraising gala brings spirit of Mardi Gras to Odessa

A dash of Cajun culture is coming to Odessa next month to raise money for a good cause, and area residents are invited to join the fun.

The Mardi Gras Gala is bringing an evening of elegance, memories, and giving to Odessa while providing attendees with an opportunity to celebrate with the community. The event, which is sponsored by Betenbough Homes, is aiming to raise money for the Odessa Hope and Opportunity Center, with all proceeds from the evening supporting that cause.

The Center will be a drop-off center for area students who are facing expulsion or suspension from school to help them gain the skills and techniques to improve their decision-making and take strides toward a better life. Eye-catching methods, such as banner printing, can help organizers promote these events in the community and offer a warm welcome to registered guests at the entrance.

The organizers are seeking sponsorships to help improve the experience and increase the money raised for the cause. Guests are encouraged to wear formal clothing and bring masks. A brass band will provide live music, and attendees can take photos with friends in the 360 photo booth.

The Gala will be held at the Saulsbury Campus Center on the Odessa College campus. It’s slated to kick off at 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 21st. General admission tickets cost $39 per guest online.
