The Juneteenth Freedom Festival is taking place this month in Humble.
A fundraiser for the Juneteenth Freedom Festival Foundation's scholarship fund, Juneteenth takes place each year around the middle of the month, in celebration of the day in 1865 when Texas announced the abolition of slavery.
The party will have something to offer everyone of all ages. There will be musical entertainment from artists such as The City and LT and the Zydeco Mob, food concessions and trucks, and vendors. A vendor alley will be set up where local businesses and entrepreneurs will be selling arts and crafts, hair and beauty supplies, financial services and other general merchandise.
The Kid Zone will be open from 12:00 to 7:00 PM. It will have bounce houses, face painters and shaved ice. There will also be a mechanical bull and giant Jenga.
In addition, a private HBCU Block Party will be held for alumni of various local schools.
Stationery printers in Humble often provide printed Flyers that help advertise fundraising events such as this festival.
The Juneteenth Freedom Festival will be held at the Humble Civic Center and Arena Complex this Saturday, June 15 from 12:00 to 9:00 PM. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students with ID. For the most recent information about the festival, visit the Facebook event page.
