Residents get to show off their baking skills this fall

The Batty Bake-off and Monster Movie Night is taking place next month in the Fall Creek area of Humble.

The baking competition is open only to resident of the Fall Creek area and participants must be registered by October 5. There are three categories of competition: cakes (including cupcakes), pies, and handheld (which includes cookies and brownies). There are two separate competitions for adults (16+) and children. Each participant must bring a minimum of eight servings of their baked item.

The public will get to sample many of the baked goods and will also have the opportunity to purchase dinner.

The competition will be followed by the screening of two Halloween-related movies. The first movie will be ‘It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown’ and it will be followed by ‘Hocus Pocus’ starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy. Guests are encouraged to dress in costume and bring along a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.
