The Bayou City Art Festival is taking place over three days beginning at the end of this month. It is presented by the Art Colony Association and proceeds from this event will support local nonprofit organizations.
This popular festival takes place twice a year, in spring and in the fall. Last year's spring festival attracted approximately 15,000 visitors.
More than 350 artists in 18 different media will be showcasing and selling their works during the three-day festival. Some of the items expected to be offered for sale will include paintings, handmade jewelry, prints, and clothing. In addition, there will be musical entertainment, food, and drink. There will be several creative zones set up for those who want to try their hands at creating art.
A ceremony will award prizes to the winners of the middle school art competition and the emerging artist competition for high school students. Organizers are still accepting volunteers to help with the smooth running of this event.
This event attracts people from all over the area, including nearby Humble. To spread the word, local Print companies often provide Flyers.
The Bayou City Art Festival will be held at Bayou City Memorial Park from April 29 to May 1. Admission is $12 for adults, $5 for children between the age of 6 and 12, and $65 for VIP. A shuttle pass is $3. Call 713-521-0133 to learn more.
