Long-running charity luncheon has new Humble beginnings

Humble Civic Center will be playing host to Mothers Against Cancer’s 27th annual fundraising luncheon.

This will be the first time that the event has been held in this location, as it has outgrown its previous venue. It was previously held at the Kingswood Country Club, but the new spot will be able to accommodate a larger crowd. A printing services company will be able to provide a variety of decorations and other items that can help to make this sort of event a success.

The theme for this year is ‘Time for the Children’, and it will honor the L3 Foundation and also Barrett Kenny. His family set up the foundation after Landon Ahrendt, who lost his battle with cancer in 2014. Before he passed away, he had asked that his family to help others.

Along with the lunch, there will be both silent and live auctions, as well as raffles. As well as this, Cindy Barrett’s family will be presented with the Ann Denman Award to honor Ms. Barrett, who was a great supporter of Mothers Against Cancer.

The goal of the group is to help fight childhood cancers and support families who have a child battling the illness. They make donations to the Texas Children’s Cancer Center, and also provide parking passes and holiday gifts to those who have a child in the hospital.

The Anyone wishing to purchase a ticket to attend the luncheon, which is scheduled for December 7, is invited contact the organizers.
