Humble tasting to feature Greek wines and olives

Lakonia Imports will hold the Truly Greek: Truly Unique Wine Tasting event next month at its tasting room in Humble.

Lakonia Imports is a Greek food importer specializing in sourcing gourmet extra virgin olive oil from the Lakonia region in Greece, as well as high-quality products such as whole olives, teas, herbs, balsamic vinegars, and honey. The company has also recently opened a tasting room, which is where next month’s wine tasting will take place.

The tasting will feature samples of Greek wines, olives, and olive oil. Attendees will learn about Lakonia’s portfolio of Greek wines that are sold in the store, and about the winemakers and wineries producing those wines. The wines to be served include Sigalas Au, Akakies, Alpha Xenomavro, and Techni Alipias. Guests will also learn about the different types of olives that Lakonia grows and uses in its products. For refreshments, there will be appetizers such as dipping sauces, fresh bread, and Greek style meatballs by The Olive Oil Restaurant.

Tasting events such as this often feature specially crafted Menus to explain the different selections to be sampled. Paper Menus can be professionally printed at local Stationery printers.

The gourmet tasting event is slated for October 26 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The Lakonia Imports Tasting Room is located on 7500 Old North Belt Drive. Tickets are $50.
