Humble police officer receives award

Freda Moore, a Senior Officer with the Humble ISD was awarded an Outstanding Service Award given by the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce.

The plaque was handed to Senior Officer Moore at the annual Peace Officer/Firefighter of the Year Awards luncheon which was hosted by the Chamber of Commerce. This event is a great place for firefighters, officers and other people involved in law enforcement to come together and exchange Business Cards. Moore was handed the award in the presence of Police Chief Solomon Cook and Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen. A message on the Humble ISD website congratulating Freda says:

“Humble ISD salutes Senior Officer Moore for going above and beyond the call of duty to keep our students safe. We congratulate her on her well-deserved award!”

Freda Moore has been with the Humble ISD Police Department since 2016. Since then, she has received several written recommendations and accolades from students, staff and school principals who are all grateful for the hard work that she puts in. One of her most glowing written accolades came from the Girl Scouts, who Freda worked with in order to teach them the basics of investigative skills and police work.

A new form of report writing that was designed by Senior Officer Moore is currently being implemented as the standard format at Humble ISD, as well as other school district police departments. She also completed an EMS course, which means that she now has dual certifications as an EMS technician and a police officer.
