Houston gem society to host 68th annual show

The Houston Gem and Mineral Society (HGMS) will hold its 68th Annual Gem, Mineral, Jewelry, and Fossil Show in Humble next month.

The show will be a three-day event with interesting activities for the whole family to enjoy. For jewelry, gem, and fossil collectors, there will be unique gems, minerals, fossils, and jewelry to buy from over 40 dealers. There will also be educational demonstrations held such as silversmithing, wirewrapping, and cabochon making for attendees to observe. Experts will be on hand to provide proper identification of different gemstones, fossils, and minerals.

Houston Museum of Natural Science will host special activities, including children’s activities on Kids Day. Teachers will be able to bring their students to participate in a free interactive learning experience revolving around gems, minerals, and fossils. The Houston Geological Society will have their Energy Exhibit set up to give demonstrations of how oil and gas is extracted from the earth.

Attendees will also be entered in raffles for door prizes and Promotional Products when they purchase tickets. This includes both online purchases and at-the-door ticket purchases.

The HGMS Gem, Mineral, Jewelry, and Fossil Show will run from November 12 through November 14. Tickets are $8, with children ages 10 and under getting in for free. It will take place at the Humble Civic Center located at 8233 Will Clayton Parkway.
