The Back to School Market is taking place next month in nearby Kingwood. A portion of proceeds will be donated to HKAP.
There will be Backpacks filled with supplies handed out to the first 50 children beginning at 2:00 PM. There will also be 20 teacher kits that will be handed out. Organizers are still accepting donations of Backpacks, school supplies, gently used clothing, shoes, and other necessary tools. They are also still accepting monetary donations with a goal of $500 in order to purchase more Backpacks and supplies.
There will be a bouncy house for the children to play on and food will be available for purchase.
In addition, local vendors will be on hand to sell arts and crafts or general merchandise. It is also likely that several nonprofit community organizations will be providing information about their programs.
HKAP is an organization that provides community outreach to Hurricane Harvey survivors in Huffman, Humble, Kingwood, Atascocita and Porter.
Local poster printing firms often help to advertise events in the Humble area by providing their products to organizers.
The Back to School Market will be held at Kingwood Town Center Park on August 18 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM. Admission is free but a $1 donation would be appreciated. To learn more, visit the official Facebook page.
