Annual show will bring out the cat lovers

The 63rd annual Houston Cat Club Charity Cat Show is being held over two days next month in Humble. This event is sanctioned by the Cat Fanciers' Association.

Entries are being accepted until January 5, with a limit of 225 in total. There are two divisions of competition, pedigreed, and household pets. Fees for pedigreed are $50 for the first entry with discounts for each additional cat. For household pets, the fee is $30 for a single cage and $45 for a double. Judging will be done in eight rings.

The public will enjoy watching the cats and getting to meet them. They will also enjoy the many vendors who will be on hand to sell cat-related merchandise like works of art, photography services, furniture, and gifts for cat owners. In addition, several shelters and rescue organizations will be providing information about their services. Some of those confirmed to appear are the Houston Humane Society and the Dori Darling No-Kill Shelter.

It is likely that the ribbons that will be handed out at this Humble event to the winners of their divisions will be provided by local printing companies.

The Houston Cat Club Charity Cat Show will take place at the Humble Civic Center over the January 9 – 10 weekend. Tickets are $9 for adults, $7 for seniors and $4 for children between the ages of 5 and 12. Contact Becky Galloway at 713-666-8003 for more information.
