The Lake Houston 10K 5K is taking place next month. Presented by the Memorial Hermann Northeast and Texas Emergency Care Center, the event is a fundraiser for the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce.
This is a sanctioned event. The top male and female finishers in the 10K will receive $500 and the top male and female finishers in the 5K will win $250. All those who finish will also receive finisher medals.
The fees to participate are $35 for the 10K and $40 for the 5K, although fees will go up $5 on the day of the event. All participants receive runner Bags and T-Shirts.
The event will also feature a Kids’ Zone, music from DJ Super Sam, and vendor booths representing various area businesses.
Organizers are looking for volunteers of all ages. Those 18 and over can help with registration, people 15 and over can hand out runner Bags and race shirts among other items, and children aged 10 and up can help with cleaning up and tearing down.
It is likely that this race will attract people from all over Lake Houston, including those from nearby Humble. All Banners and signage that will be used will likely be obtained from a local printing firm.
