The 17th annual Heritage Day is taking place in Humble next month, presented by the Black Professional Cowboys and Cowgirls Association, Inc. (BPCCA).
The aim of this event is to honor the heritage of Texas African-American families. The day will be filled with plenty of family-friendly activities sure to please everyone. There are set to be several musical performances by artists such as Lil' Nate and the Zydeco Big Timers, Cupid and Brian Jack, and the Zydeco Gamblers. DJ ‘Jamming J’ will also perform.
Arts and crafts vendors will be on hand to sell their mostly handmade items, and food and refreshments will be available for purchase. The Kid Zone will have plenty of games and rides to keep the children happy.
One of the biggest events of the day will be the Heritage Day Rodeo, with bull riding, street wrestling, and all of the traditional rodeo events. Vendor booths are still available for $195 or $295, and must be attractively decorated.
Some of the Humble vendors will be using their graphic design skills to make sure their booths are pleasing to the eye.
Heritage Day will be held at the Humble Civic Center on March 5, beginning at 12:00 pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children between the ages of 5 and 12. For event information, call 281-425-8998.
