Abilene Beer Summit returns in September

Market Street presents the Abilene Beer Summit next month.

Hosted by the Frontier Texas interactive museum, the summit is a beer tasting experience with more than 100 craft beers from all over the globe.

Abilene Beer Summit is expected to have about 135 different beers from 45 breweries this year. Some breweries that have participated in the past include Amber Dragon Meadery, Blue Moon Brewery, and Red Gap Brewing. This year's list is yet to be determined.

This year, musical entertainment will be offered by Roger Creager with his special guests, The Huser Brothers. They will be playing throughout the afternoon. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit and listen.

There will be four food trucks at the festival – Tacolote, Dragon Soul Hibachi, Urban Street Food, and El Texican Kitchen. Food trucks will be located near the gates, and tables are available for eating.

Finally, expect to see several local vendors selling a variety of items. At some similar festivals, vendors have had Business Cards to pass out for those hoping to shop in the future.

The general pass is $75. There is also a deluxe pass for $150 and a VIP pass for $250. Tickets are available on the festival's website. Children and dogs are allowed when accompanied by an adult, but only those with a valid ID and a wristband will be served beer.

The Abilene Beer Summit takes place at 625 North 1st on Saturday, September 26, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Parking is available across the street.
