Quartet of tenants coming to Main Street

North Myrtle Beach's Main Street development is welcoming four new tenants

Scoops Ice Cream, Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips, OD Sky Bar, and Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs are the new arrivals. The project is at 214 Main Street, and it replaces the building that once housed Emmi Lu's Unique Boutique and Miss Vickie's on Main.

Michael Moshoures owns the new businesses, and says opening them is the first step toward modernizing the city. Pat Dowling, a spokesman for North Myrtle Beach, says the Main Street project could inspire others to locate in the same area in the future. He notes there is vacant land nearby, and developers have already shown interest in it.

Dowling describes why Main Street is so popular, saying it offers a mix of professional services, retail shopping, amusements, bars, and restaurants that appeal to a diverse mix of visitors and residents. For many people, the area resembles a beach town from earlier days, and still meets contemporary needs.

He adds that it is also the focal point of the city's celebrations such as festivals, parades, and free concerts, all of which creates a great variety of things to see and do in the area.
