Though spelling bees have been around for years, a Myrtle Beach venue will soon be hosting one that boasts a modern twist.
The Palmetto Literacy council will be the charity of choice for an upcoming Adult Spelling Bee. It will follow a format similar to a group trivia activity. Bluewater Resort will be the venue for the friendly competition, and it is anticipated that there will be lots of laughter.
Each team of five will show off their spelling skills, and they will have to spell their words correctly to avoid losing their spot. To add even more fun, the judges will sound a gong every time a competitor makes a mistake. Even-split and raffle draws, as well as a silent auction for a variety of donated Corporate Gifts, will round out the occasion, and a cash bar will be on offer for anyone who would like to purchase a drink.
A friendly competition may call for whimsical prizes for the winners, and local Stationery printers will be happy to lend a hand here. They can prepare a wide assortment of award styles as well as custom designed certificates.
