Popular pony coming to Myrtle Beach

An automobile that was a success from its launch in 1964 will be celebrated this fall in Myrtle Beach.

The 10th Annual Grand Strand Mustang Stampede has been scheduled for Broadway at the Beach, a multi-use center featuring shops, restaurants, several hotels, and amusements. The stampede will take place in the parking lot at Dave and Buster's.

The Stampede is open to all vehicles with Ford power plants, and of course, to Mustangs. There will be judging on both days, and participants can select which day they wish to be judged. The prizes to be awarded include Best in Show Ford; Best in Show Late Model Mustang; and Best in Show Early Model Mustang. There will be 32 specialty trophies and 150 regular trophies awarded, plus all entrants will receive a dash plaque.

The Stampede is scheduled for October 2 and 3, from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm on both days. Pre-registration is available until 12:00 midnight on September 25. The fee is $30 for both days, and everyone who pre-registered will automatically go into a draw, though they must be present at the drawing to win.

Registration is available the same day, for $35. Anyone interested in taking part needs to put the pedal to the metal, since the event is limited to the first 300 vehicles to sign up. Banner printing can provide colorful decorations for outdoor events like this.
