Barefoot Landing, a shopping, entertainment, and dining complex in North Myrtle Beach, is getting a new look for the summer. In total, 10 new stores are either opening or have already started operating, plus the center itself is being improved.
Crews have already been working at the center, installing new decking on pedestrian bridges, expanding and renovating restrooms, resurfacing the parking lots, and reworking the landscaping.
Kim Kelley, a spokeswoman for Barefoot Landing, hopes the new appearance will entice people into returning to dine or shop there, as she noted that it previously had a “weathered, tired look”. Crews are still working, painting as needed throughout the Landing. They are also adding furniture to the common areas, including benches and rocking chairs, and putting in planters.
Among the stores now open are M.R. Docks, a clothier selling casual wildlife-themed Apparel; the TrickMaster, a magic store; and Yours and Mayan, selling wood carvings, masks, and jewelry. Stores not yet open include It’s Sugar, Crabby Jack’s General Store, and Hat Fanatic.
The center surrounds a large lake and opened in 1988 and comprises approximately 100 restaurants, stores, and attractions, such as the Alabama Theatre and the House of Blues.
