Myrtle Beach will soon boast a new hotel near the Coastal Grand Mall. The hotel, a Homewood Suites, will be sited at the corner of Seaboard Street and Harrelson Boulevard, and offer 105 rooms to visitors. The hotel is a four-story structure and is only a few miles from Myrtle Beach International Airport.
Renderings done by LS3P Architecture show a building that has on-site parking, and totals approximately 87,710 square feet. LS3P's vice president, Jim Hubbard, said the Myrtle Beach Community Appearance Board reviewed the plans recently, and gave a favorable opinion of them.
Hubbard also said the permitting and planning details, which the architect is working out with the City of Myrtle Beach, are going well, and they should be able to submit final plans sometime early in 2019.
Gibson Hotel Management of Knoxville, Tennessee, is the hotel owner. Gibson also owns another hotel in the area, the Hilton Garden Inn located on Coastal Grand Circle. Owners of properties like this could use brochure printing to create Booklets that show their amenities.
This summer, a proposal was made to construct a senior living community adjacent to the lot where the hotel is planned. The facility will be on Seaboard Street and is known as the Retreat at Coastal Grand. It is expected to offer 194 apartments as well as new commercial spaces. The Retreat will also have a fitness center, a bocce court, and a pickle ball court.
