Myrtle Beach to host obstacle course 5K

Next month, the Myrtle Beast Terrain Race 5K will take place in Myrtle Beach for anyone wishing to challenge themselves on a boot camp-style obstacle course.

The Myrtle Beast event will be hosted by Ryan Small, a marine veteran with multiple honors and accolades who owns a successful fitness boot camp. The 5K will combine racing elements with military-style obstacles and feats of physical prowess. The course will be four football fields in length, layered with mud, with a huge mountain of dirt in the middle. There will be 30 lanes with each lane a tenth of a mile long and filled with obstacles. Speakers blasting intense music will complete the immersive military atmosphere.

There will also be other challenging activities such as the pull-up competition, medicine ball throwing, timed ammo can press, tire flip, and tug-of-war competition. Free pizza from Marco’s Pizza will be available for racers and volunteers. The afterparty will take place at The Boathouse with live music and beer. Racers 21 and up will receive one free beer with their registration, along with a shirt with the event Logo Design and a swag bag filled with gifts from local businesses.

The race is scheduled for May 21 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. It will take place at 2904 Fantasy Way. Tickets range in price from $55 to $60.
