Myrtle Beach to hold virtual St. Patricks Day race

Moon Joggers of Virtual Run Events will host the 2023 Luck of the Irish 5K next month for those in Myrtle Beach wishing to participate in a virtual run at their own schedule and pace.

The 5K will be Irish and St. Patrick’s Day themed in honor of the holiday happening in March. The run will also follow an at-your-own-pace virtual format, meaning that instead of participating in the race on a particular day at a particular time, runners will be able to choose when and how they complete their 5K. The only criterion is that the 5K must be completed within the month of March. Organizers do encourage participants to plan their run on March 17th, however, to get into the spirit of the lucky month.

As March is also Hemophilia Awareness Month, the 5K will also benefit the National Hemophilia Foundation, an organization dedicated to advocating for people with inherited bleeding disorders. Its work includes fighting for better treatments, preventing complications, and discovering a cure. A 15% share of the proceeds raised from registration fees will be donated to the foundation. Race participants will receive finisher medals and bibs with a unique, event-themed Logo Design.

The Luck of the Irish 5K will take place throughout the month of March. Early bird registration is $17.99, and regular registration will be $19.99.
