Strand Capital Group, a Myrtle Beach developer, has teamed up with Hilton Grand Vacations to build a new timeshare tower on the oceanfront on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach.
Ocean 22, a 24-story tower, is slated to receive its certificate of occupancy in May 2015. It will be able to open for guests early in July, according to Patrick Lowe, a Strand Capital Group partner. During June, crews will move in furniture, train the staff, and put the final polish on the timeshare units.
A preview center comprising 10,400 square feet, is slated to open its doors in February. The center, which is across the boulevard from the tower, will allow potential buyers to learn more about the project. The tower will have 220 units, an indoor and outdoor pool, an area for children to play, and a fitness center.
Ocean 22 is the first tower of its type to open on Ocean Boulevard since Hampton Inn & Suites Oceanfront opened its second tower in 2009. The recession stopped new hotel construction, and as the market was saturated, it has been trying to self-correct. Now, there are two more lodging towers planned for Myrtle Beach.
Management from Strand Capital and Hilton could work with a brochure printing company to create a booklet to distribute to realtors, who could present the new tower to potential buyers.
