Myrtle Beach opens March with oyster roast

Oyster roasts are a popular tradition for Myrtle Beach, and one has been scheduled for the community that will showcase how oyster shell recycling can contribute to healthy marine ecosystems.

The family-friendly Oyster Roast for the Coast has been organized through the efforts of the North Myrtle Beach Chamber Foundation and Boardwalk Billy’s, which will be the venue for the occasion. Tickets may be purchased at Destination Myrtle Beach and are $35.

The casual celebration will feature oysters, along with an assortment of BBQ fare for the landlubbers. Hush puppies will be served as a side, and live musical and magical entertainment are both in the works. While they enjoy the festivities, the attendees will find out how oyster shell recycling supports marine habitats, boosts water quality, and prevents coastal erosion. The monies raised will support programming that connects area residents and visitors with North Myrtle Beach’s business community.

As with many events that raise funds and awareness, the planners of Oyster Roast for the Coast greatly appreciate the support of the area's business community. Stationery printers can design special Corporate Gifts to present to the sponsors of an activity to thank them for their assistance.

This seafood feast for a cause will be serving up shellfish and more this Saturday, March 1. It will run from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
