The Myrtle Beach Hot Chocolate Classic will take place next month to raise money for local schools and provide some family-friendly fun.
The hot chocolate classic will feature both a chip-timed 5K and an untimed one-mile Fun Run. Proceeds raised from the event will go towards supporting Horry and Georgetown County schools. Participating schools earn $1 per participant who Signs up, and the school with the most participants receive an additional donation. Awards will be presented for 5K and one-mile overall winners, and the 5K winners will also be awarded according to each age group.
The running event will also have many activities for guests besides the races themselves. There will be a hot chocolate bar, hat contest, the School Principal Contest, face painting for the kids, a DJ foam dance party for all ages, and a post-race All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast. Attendees will also enjoy a s’mores party for dessert. Runners will receive race swag, such as a custom-designed racing bib, finisher gift, and a long-sleeved shirt with a custom-designed Logo Design on it.
The Myrtle Beach Hot Chocolate Classic will take place on Saturday, January 21, beginning at 7:45 am. The venue will be The Hangout Myrtle Beach, which is located at 1181 Celebrity Circle. Registration for the 5K is $35, and it is $20 for the Fun Run.
