Royersford residents have been offered an opportunity to learn more about a little-known planting technique, and they will even get a chance to try it out for themselves.
Kokedama, which hails from Japan, is a traditional art form that combines simplicity of culture with the beauty of a living plant. The ticket holders for the workshop, which is scheduled to be hosted at Root Down Brewing Company, will be able to choose from either a jade plant or Phalaenopsis orchid, and the instruction and materials will all be provided. Each ticket holder will also be invited to enjoy a beer from Root Down.
The group will learn how they can transform peat and other mosses, twine, soil and plant into a living showpiece, and they will also be taught how to care for their new creation. There will be some time spent on learning some basic macramé knotting techniques so that the kokedamas can be hung if desired.
Tickets for this workshop at priced according to the plant selected and the number of them they wish to use. Offer in the guests printed instruction sheets can make it easier for them to give their jade plant or orchid the care it needs to thrive, and Print shops will be able to craft items like these.
This chance for Royersford residents to add an extra touch of life to their home has been scheduled for the evening of February 18. The venue can be found at 1 North Main Street in Phoenixville.
