Royersford kids invited to make new feathered friend

One of the residents at a Royersford park will serve as the host for a special experience offered to the public at Upper Schuylkill Valley Park.

The park has completed construction of a new home for Montgomery, who is the park’s resident bald eagle. This huge bird of prey acts as an animal ambassador, and youngsters from age three to seven will be able to learn more about him and his wild cousins.

The park’s staff will lead an hour long visit to Montgomery, and the participants will also see his new home and learn how it was designed to meet his needs. The kids will discover what bald eagles eat and the role they play in the ecosystem, as well as how their numbers have recovered and even risen over the past few decades. There will be a crafting session included in the event, and this experience is on offer free of charge.

Organizers of this sort of children’s activity offer it in the hope it will spark an interest in environmental stewardship in the participants. Offering them small Promotional Products that fit into the theme of the session is one way to encourage them to keep on learning.

This chance to Meet Montgomery will be offered on July 9 at 1615 Black Rock Road. Everyone who registers is asked to be on site by 10:00 am.
